ABOUT

Jean Press is dedicated to serving as an equitable platform for self-published works by and for queer trans artists, writers, and educators. Our mission is to support local writers, artists, and communities by providing a space to connect with their audiences. We aim to foster creativity and preserve cultural and artistic expressions. The studio is designed to eliminate barriers that inhibit individuals from expressing their messages, using publishing as a means to support groups striving for mutual aid, equity, and collective liberation. By removing obstacles that may prevent someone from publishing their work, Jean Press will become a liberating space where disenfranchised voices can be heard.

Operating a papermaking studio is a vital part of our vision, as it facilitates the printing process and makes sharing ideas more creative and accessible. Overall, our goal is to empower individuals through self-expression and communication. We are looking to print copies of original prints, zines, books, research, chapbooks, poetry, stickers, guides, ephemera, oracle decks, political content, and other resources created for and by queer and trans people of the global majority.
